Unusual pairings for peanut butter

It’s still September, but some of us are already getting tired of  lunch-box fave peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Ready to switch things up? Food Republic has listed new interesting sandwich combination — all including the go-to staple, peanut butter.

While banana, honey and Nutella all seem like obvious peanut-butter partners, mayo does not.  But apparently, mayonnaise and peanuts go way back: More than a century ago, The Southern Housekeeper’s Peanut Sandwiches were filled with chopped roasted peanuts mixed with mayo.
