Miss Mouse Adult CostumeHalloween is the time of the year when children are given the chance to dress up according to their favorite cartoon characters and superheroes. In fact, one of the most popular Halloween costumes enjoyed by a lot of parents and children alike are Disney character costumes, and one of these is a Minnie Mouse dress costume. Europe On A Budget

Nature holds a very strong call for many of us so it is only natural to want to vacation in the great outdoors. The chance to relax, exercise and experience nature all at the same time usual incorporates hiking. Few experiences can equal exploring are area of woods or hiking up to a mountain top to experience nature and it’s beauty. There are many locations around the world that can provide the perfect backdrop for such a vacation but you need a passport to visit many of them. Your first step to an international experience is to be sure you have a passport so go to an online passport agency and download a USA passport form. Then the sky will literally be the limit for the locations you will be able to experience.

Experienced hikers often move up to trekking. This sport incorporates intense hiking with the assistance of a guide as well as some four-legged friends. Horses or donkeys are often incorporated to aid in transport equipment as trekking can encompass several days and often requires extensive climbing.

If you are thinking of trying out your hand at hiking or trekking, there are beautiful places all over the globe to explore. New Zealand is one of these destinations. Famous world wide for its dramatic landscapes and breathtaking scenery, New Zealand has all sorts of ecosystems and environments that you are able to explore, each of which is home to unique and exotic plants and animals. One of the most famous hiking trails is the Inca Trail in Peru. This trail sends you through rainforests, around cloudy-topped mountains, and into the ancient city of Machu Picchu. The Torres del Paine Circuit, located in Chile, is another dramatic option for a hiking trip. This location has been recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve, and thus is one of the most untouched areas you can explore. Traveling here will give you the opportunity to experience giant glacial fields, beautiful white-tipped mountains, and the famous pink granite pillars.

One Quebecer missing after post-tropical storm Irene blasts Quebec, Maritimes

MONTREAL - One person was unaccounted for and tens of thousands were in the dark Monday after the residual power of hurricane Irene cut a destructive path through Quebec and the Maritimes.

The post-tropical storm may be to blame for a road collapse Monday about 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal, where the resulting crevasse swallowed two cars and left authorities searching for a missing driver.

After smacking southern Quebec on Sunday with heavy rain and howling winds, a system that was once hurricane Irene churned northeast Monday across the province and into Atlantic Canada.

But Canada appeared to emerge relatively unscathed from the remnants of the powerful hurricane that killed at least 35 people in 10 U.S. states. It left millions of Americans without power and thousands of flights were cancelled.

Best Costumes For Halloween: Halloween Costumes Greek Style

One of the most common is the costumes Greek style. This is because it is both interesting and easy to do. There are so many different characters that you can be for Halloween, such as characters from mythology and ancient history. Here is a short list for the kinds of Greek characters that you can be:

1. Athena - Athena, in Greek mythology, is the goddess of wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill.  She is one of the most popular characters for costumes Greek style. Women love to be her for Halloween because of the admirable things that she stands for, and the fact that she has such a strong character even amongst the male gods.Clash of the Titans - Sexy Athena Adult Costume

This is a great looking Halloween costume. I like the Halloween Greek style theme.

Brad Pitt saves woman on movie set

Brad Pitt saved a woman on the set of 'World War Z' from being trampled.

The 47-year-old actor was shooting battle scenes for the horror apocalypse movie in Glasgow, Scotland, with 700 extras when the actress fell to the ground in the melee.

Quick-thinking Brad scooped her up in his arms and put her back on her feet before she faced the risk of getting badly injured.

A source told the Scottish Sun newspaper: "Lots of people hurt themselves and Brad came to the rescue of one woman who slipped. I don't think she could believe it when Brad picked her up.

"He didn't have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a grazed knee."

Although the actress had her very own Hollywood hero to save her, many of the other extras weren't so lucky and were left with injuries following the dangerous battle scene.

What Your Birth Order Says About You

Whether you're very close to all your 47 siblings or your sister leads a secret life, your siblings are by far the most influential people in your life — more so than your parents, your husband, your own children. So says Time science writer Jeffrey Kluger, who mined the latest research on sibling relationships for his new book, The Sibling Effect. Conventional wisdom says that siblings are "essentially fungible, interchangeable people," says Kluger. "But in terms of the fundamental ways you're shaped, I don't think anything touches siblings. From the time we're born, they're our collaborators and coconspirators, our role models and our cautionary tales. Our own children arrive comparatively late in our lives; our parents leave us too early." We asked Kluger for other insights into brothers and sisters.

Is African mango a weight-loss wonder fruit?

(AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A./The Canadian Press)

Goodbye, grapefruit diet. Hello, African mango?

Everyone’s looking for the magical weight-loss solution. Some claim they’ve found it in the African mango, the latest fruit fad to invade the weight-loss world. Its supplements have even been endorsed on The Dr. Oz show.

Dr. Tanya Edwards wrote on DoctorOz.com:

“Sounds like a magic bullet to me! I tried it myself, and lo and behold, in the first month of taking it (only once per day, mind you, instead of the recommended twice daily), I lost seven pounds without making any changes in my usual healthy diet and exercise routine!”

Africa’s “bush mango” boasts a special agent called IGOB131, a fat eliminator. Die-hard fans claim the fruit’s seeds contain a “’special fibre’ that binds to cholesterol and helps to eliminate unwanted fats from the body — thereby resulting in rapid weight loss.”

Morton’s Steakhouse delivers porterhouse to airport in response to one tweet

Last week, Peter Shankman posted the following on Twitter:

"Hey @Mortons — can you meet me at newark airport with a porthouse when I land in two hours? K, thanks. :)"

The playful tweet was intended to be just that, a cheeky comment on the social networking site to engage his 100,000-plus followers.

He had no idea Morton's would accommodate his request.

"I was joking in my tweet. I never, ever expected anything to come of it other than a few giggles," Shankman insists.

After a long day of flights — Shankman flew from Newark to Tampa for a lunch meeting and was on his way back to Newark — he was tired and hungry with "visions of a steak in my head," he writes.

The entrepreneurial New Yorker tweeted his steak-dinner dreams before liftoff.

A New—Surprising—Relationship Predictor

OK, so there's no surefire way to know whether or not you and your guy will be together in a few decades. As of this week, though, scientists can make a very educated prediction....

By Zoe Ruderman

Ever wonder what type of couple you and your boyfriend or husband will be in 10 or 30 or 50 years? Will you be like that sweet twosome in their eighties walking down the street holding hands and calling each other honey? Or will you end up more like those parents of three standing in line at the airport yelling passive-aggressively at each other and using pet names like non-bag-carrying idiot and insensitive balding jerk (true story, we heard it)? Well, you don't need a crystal ball because the results of a new huge-scale survey might have the answer. All you have to do is look at your current level of conflict. Chances are that you'll fight about the same amount and with the same tenacity next year or in 60 years.

Kate Winslet helped carry Richard Branson's 90-year-old mother out of burning house

LONDON - Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet helped rescue Richard Branson's elderly mother from a fire that destroyed his Caribbean home.

The Virgin Group boss said in his blog that he wanted to offer "many thanks to Kate Winslet for helping to carry my 90 year (old) mum out of the main house to safety." He joked that Winslet "was wondering when a director was going to shout 'CUT!'

In a separate statement Tuesday, Branson praised Winslet's two children, 10-year-old Mia and 7-year-old Joe, who were also staying in the house when it caught fire. He called them "two of the bravest kids I've ever come across."

Branson said he was staying in another property around 100 yards (meters) away with his wife, Joan and son Sam, 25. He said Sam noticed the main house in flames and ran over to make sure all the guests had got out. Branson said he also jumped out of bed and ran over to help.

Burger King retires its mascot to focus on food to boost sales

PORTLAND, Ore. - The King is dead, but the burger lives on.

Burger King Corp. on Friday said it is retiring "The King" mascot, a man with an oversized plastic head and creepy smile who in recent years has been shown in ads peeping into people's windows and popping up next to them in bed.

The move is an effort by the struggling fast food chain to boost slumping sales by focusing its marketing on the freshness of its food rather than the funny-factor of its ads. It's rolling out a new campaign on Saturday sans The King to tout its fresh ingredients and new products like its California Whopper, which has guacamole.

"We won't be seeing The King for a while," Burger King spokesman BJ Monzon said Friday.

15 Who-knew? uses for your microwave

More than a popcorn popper, this versatile appliance was underutilized―until now.

1. Disinfect and Deodorize Sponges
Don't throw out the kitchen sponge that smells like last night's salmon. Soak it in water spiked with white vinegar or lemon juice, then heat it on high for 1 minute. (Use an oven mitt to remove it.) This will also disinfect any sponges you used to wipe up the juices from a raw chicken.

See More: New Uses for Kitchen Items

2. Cook an Entire Dinner in Under 10 Minutes
Not just the TV variety. We mean braised salmon with green beans and mashed potatoes. Use the microwave for any recipe that calls for braising, poaching, or steaming. Just subtract about three-quarters of the cooking time. Remember to stir liquids often to redistribute the heat, and always take the food out a minute or two before it's completely done, since it will continue to cook.

3. Disinfect Plastic Cutting Boards
Wash the board well, rub it with the cut side of a lemon, then heat for 1 minute.

4. Soften Brown Sugar
Keep the sugar in its plastic packaging, add a few drops of water, and heat on medium for 10 to 20 seconds.

Global stocks extend rout, gold soars

On Friday August 19, 2011, 8:13 am EDT

LONDON (Reuters) - A selloff in global stocks gathered pace on Friday, reflecting mounting concerns the economy is heading into another recession and as some European lenders faced a short-term funding crunch, highlighting the risk of a banking crisis.

Nervous investors fled to the safety of core government bonds, Swiss francs and gold, which hit a record high, with many seeking to unwind holdings of riskier assets such as stocks, commodities and higher-yielding currencies before the weekend.

European shares extended steep losses from Thursday, when they suffered their biggest daily slide in 2-1/2 years, with key indexes in Britain, France and Germany deep in the red.

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a weaker open on Wall Street, a day after the Nasdaq shed more than 5 percent and the S&P 500 tumbled 4.5 percent fears. Futures for the S&P 500 , the Dow Jones and the Nasdaq 100 were down by between 1 and 1.2 percent.

Colleen Lippert thought she was attending a retirement party. She didn’t know that she was showing up for her own wedding.

Her boyfriend, Shawn, surprised the Ontario native with a 200-guest wedding — the culmination of a yearlong secret he called “Operation White Cake.”

The shocked bride says she was “overwhelmed and overjoyed” by the surprise nuptials.

Over the course of a year, Shawn carefully extracted details from Colleen, grilling her on her hypothetical dream wedding. He then planned a surprise affair filled with her ideas.

Forget Jimmy Choos, Manolo Blahniks, and Christian Louboutins. We've found some fancy footwear that makes those designer heels look like chump change. These Chipkos sandals (pictured on the right) cost a whopping $18,000!

Related Link: 35 Must-Have Fall Shoes

These flip-flops are not covered in diamonds or crafted from exotic alligator skin, but they are unique. Each pair is hand painted by Los Angeles artist David Palmer in an abstract, Jackson-Pollock type style. The Chipkos emblem is also made out of solid 18 carat eco-friendly gold by Readers Fine Jewelers in Santa Monica. But the $18,000 doesn't just buy you a pair of non-waterproof flip-flops. The proceeds will help protect 100,000 square feet of endangered rainforest in Costa Rica. While we certainly appreciate fashion items for a good cause, we'd probably rather just donate money to the World Wildlife Foundation or another cause to help save important habitats.

From gang member to millionaire CEO

I recently caught up with Ryan Blair, who is a serial entrepreneur and author of the new book "Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain." Ryan established his first company, 24-7 Tech when he was only twenty-one years old. Since then, he has created and actively invested in multiple start-ups and has become a self-made multimillionaire. After he sold his company ViSalus Sciences to Blyth in early 2008, the global recession took the company to the brink of failure resulting in a complete write off of the stock and near bankruptcy. Ryan as CEO went "all in" betting his last million dollars on its potential and turned the company around from the edge of failure to more than $150,000,000 a year in revenue in only 16 months winning the coveted DSN Global Turn Around Award in 2010. In this interview, Ryan talks about how he re-branded himself after being in a gang, the issues with the education system, and more.

How did you shake your criminal record and re-brand yourself?

I remember when I was working my way up in the first company that employed me, I used to have nightmares that one day they'd find out about that I had been in a gang, call me into the office, and fire me. In the beginning I didn't talk much about what I'd been through. But eventually when I got to a point where I had established myself as a professional entrepreneur, I embraced my past, used it as part of my branding, and crossed over.

Woman mauled by chimp shows new face in first photo

BOSTON (Reuters) - A woman who underwent a full face transplant in May after being mauled by a chimpanzee in 2009 revealed her new face in a photo released on Thursday.

Charla Nash, 57, who was photographed in her hospital bed at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, appears dramatically different with a new nose, lips and facial skin.

"I will now be able to do things I once took for granted," Nash said in a statement.

"I will be able to smell. I will be able to eat normally. I will no longer be disfigured. I will have lips and will speak clearly once again. I will be able to kiss and hug loved ones."

Nash was hurt after a friend's 200-pound (91 kg) pet chimpanzee went on a rampage two years ago. She lost her hands, lips, nose and eyes, leaving her blind and disfigured after the attack. The animal was eventually shot and killed by police.

After undergoing a grueling 20-hour full face transplant at the hospital in May, Nash in the photo now has a fair, almost blushing, complexion.

Surprising picture emerges of alleged rioters

From an organic chef and an opera house steward to a university student, a surprising picture emerged on Wednesday of some of the alleged troublemakers behind Britain's worst riots for decades.

While many involved seemed to fit a picture of youngsters from broken families marginalised by society, the first court appearances of some of the more than 1,000 people arrested suggested a broader cross-section took part.

In London alone, a total of 770 people have been arrested over the violence and at least 105 have been charged. Reports said at least 40 appeared in court Tuesday as authorities seek to fast-track suspects to clear the backlog.

Fitzroy Thomas, a 43-year-old organic chef, was accused with his brother Ronald, 47, of smashing up a branch of the Nando's chicken restaurant chain in Clapham, south London, the Times reported.

City of Calgary seeks to quash woman’s wildflower garden

Flowers may seem like a strange thing to get up in arms about, but the City of Calgary is not happy with what one resident is growing in her garden.

Helen Amber's garden of wildflowers are a threat to local flora, according to city bylaw officers. In a Calgary Sun article, the 65-year-old said the city's actions were not just silly, she felt harassed over the issue.

"I feel that I'm being walked upon and not listened to and talked to properly," said Amber in the story. "I feel like I am being harassed by the City of Calgary."

Alberta's Weed Control Act states certain plants - or weeds, as they're called in the act - are prohibited. Amber's garden contains Canada thistles, scentless chamomile, oxeye daisies and blue weeds, all of which are banned by the Weed Act.

Exploding meteor wakes Pacific island nation

An exploding meteor was believed to be responsible for a huge bang that reverberated around the Pacific island nation of Niue last week, according to police.

Niue police chief Mark Chenery said the loud bang on Wednesday night woke the island's 1,200 residents and he initially thought a boat had exploded in the harbour.

Chenery said there was widespread speculation about the cause of the noise but the Carter observatory in New Zealand had told him it was likely to be a meteor exploding 20 kilometres (12.5 miles) high in the atmosphere.

"There was a large (noise), a huge clap of thunder but it was its normal starry night outside," he told Radio New Zealand.

It's nearly impossible to believe that Heather Locklear will be turning 50 in just a few weeks! The "Melrose Place" alum seems to have defied the laws of aging.

Locklear was spotted in London, England earlier this week at a charity dinner held for friend and fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson.

The blonde bombshell looked fabulous, and at 49, she can rock a skin-tight little black dress and sky-high stilettos better than some younger Hollywood starlets. It l

Canadian sailor rescued off southwest Australian coast after yacht breaks apart

SYDNEY - A Canadian sailor has been rescued off the coast of southwest Australia after his boat broke apart in rough seas.

An Australian maritime official says Paul Lim ran into trouble when the engine on his yacht broke away as he battled 10-metre waves and winds of 50 kilometres per hour in the Southern Ocean.

The sixty-two-year-old man activated the emergency beacon on his 9.5-metre craft on Monday and waited for help in the stormy seas, about 140 nautical miles southwest of Cape Leeuwin on Australia's southwestern tip.

Lim told Australian broadcaster ABC News on Tuesday that he couldn't believe how quickly he was rescued.

"When I switched it on I thought well, in a couple of days I might get a response if I'm lucky,"

A search-and-rescue helicopter dropped a radio and an extra life raft to Lim and rescue officials sent out a broadcast to ships in the area for help.

Prince Harry Calls Pippa Middleton 'Foxy Filly'

While Pippa Middleton Fever has died down a bit since its height in the weeks following the Royal Wedding, there is no question she has become a full-fledged celebrity in her own right.

So it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that she's gotten her very own television special: "Crazy About Pippa," which will air on TLC on August 9. While we're sure the show will delve in to all of the obvious topics pertaining to her life -- ex-boyfriends, clothes, her relationship with her sister -- the most entertaining part of the special will no doubt be the portion devoted to Pippa's connection with Harry.

Radar has leaked today that the special will reveal that Harry calls Pippa "Foxy Filly." (We can't say we've heard too many nicknames that are a) two words and b) longer than the person's actual name, but maybe royals just do nicknames differently.)
