Tyrannosaurus Rex name claimed by man for ‘name recognition’ purposes

Nebraska man Tyler Gold said he changed it because it sounds 'cooler'

Gold, a 23-year-old from York, Nebraska, is now going by Tyrannosaurus Rex after legally changing his name in court Monday.

The York News-Times reports Gold appeared before a judge and while on the witness stand explained his reasoning, which he also wrote in an official filing with the court. He said he wanted to change it "because the (T-Rex designation) is cooler. Also, as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable."
